Our Teachers…
Our teachers at Calvert Nursery School have obtained, as a minimum, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and have extensive experience teaching young children.
They are also certified in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross.
Janna Griffin
Mrs. Griffin is our teacher for the 4-year-old class. Janna has
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and an MS in Early Childhood Education
from Texas Tech University. She has been teaching at Calvert Nursery School
since 1994. She has experience in teaching Pre-K and First grade. Janna uses her experience and education to individualize the curriculum
and encourage skills in her students that will help them acclimate to
Kindergarten successfully.
"Each day with the 4 to 5 year olds brings something new. Learning is fun as they interact with friends, practice social skills and increase their self confidence. I enjoy incorporating the talents and personalities of the co-op parents in our classroom activities."
Sally Anderson
Mrs. Anderson is our
teacher for the 3-year-old class. Sally has a degree in Elementary Education from James Madison University.
She has been at Calvert Nursery School since August 2001. She has also been a Preschool Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher.
Sally is an amazingly patient teacher who meets her students needs with
enthusiasm.
"I enjoy teaching the 3 to 4 years old because they are curious and full of energy. Working in a co-op has been very enjoyable, because everyday is a new and different day. The parents always bring something special to the classroom and contribute to the classroom in so many ways. Calvert Nursery School has been a great experience that I hope to continue for many years."
